COMMON GROUNDS AND FORESTRY COMMITTEE

The Common Grounds and Forestry Committee ("CGC") operates under the guidance of the SRPW HOA By-Laws, Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions, and Rules and Regulations. Review by the CGC is free to homeowners.

According to Section 3 of the Approved Rules and Regulations: Only dead, dying, or diseased trees on Common Property will be removed by the Association after certification from a licensed tree service. The CGC evaluates homeowners' complaints and determines if the problem trees and debris are on common ground or the homeowner's property. The CGC assesses the imminent risk to the surrounding homes and with the advice of the tree service determines the best timeline for correction of the complaint.

The CGC meets when they receive a request from a homeowner. The CGC applies to the Board of Trustees at the monthly business meetings to allocate money for remediation.

The CGC also identifies and coordinates clean-up of small projects that can be performed by the volunteer clean-up crew. This involves removing branches dislodged by wind, some less extensive use of power tools to cut branches, removal of branches and raking.

APPLICATION TO SERVE ON THE CGC:

If you wish to apply to the Board of Trustees to serve on the CGC, you can do so verbally or in writing. The following knowledge would be helpful if you choose to apply to serve on this committee: Ability to read property maps, use rudimentary measuring tools, and understand and apply HOA Rules and Regulations. If you do not have this knowledge, but feel you can be trained in this area, indicate your willingness to be trained in your application.

CLEAN-UP CREW:

If you wish to help with clean-up, simply call the number for the CGC in the Sentinel, and they will add you to the team. The clean-up crew works every Saturday from 8 am to 9am.

IF YOU NEED SMALL PROJECT CLEAN-UP IN THE COMMON GROUND NEAR YOUR HOUSE:

Simply call the number for the CGC in the Sentinel and they will add you to the list. If you can help us help you clean up the common ground near your house, the CGC would appreciate it. However the CGC acknowledges that not all homeowners have the physical ability to assist in this type of labor.
